Twitter Censors Animal Rights Activist @MelAnimalLover.

Yesterday, Twitter took the curious action of censoring animal rights activist @MelAnimalLover . Mel Royal has been campaigning for the rights of Romanian dogs. Sometime ago in October 2013, she managed to single handedly trend the term #romaniastopanimalabuse. Of late, Mel Royal had challenged mobile giant O2 and the Romanian Film Festival. Her argument is quite simple, why should these companies be supporting Romania when the country is busy meting out endless cruelty to its animals. This was the result she obtained last night 

Subsequently, Twitter suspended her. They sent her this document :

This is an interesting email as any activist could be censored by citing "aggressiveness". This is because all activists by nature are aggressive. Of course, it begs the question, who complained about Mel Royal. Was it insecure company - O2 or was it someone else? Whoever it was should be reassured that Mel Royal can be found campaigning on Facebook here . This isn't the first time Twitter has curbed critical Tweets. Everyone should read the Independent article here on their last foray into censorship and preventing free speech. So while Twitter is busy being politically correct, dogs are dying in Romania. Is this what they want? In this case, it is quite worrying that Twitter censored a single campaigner from raising concerns about animal cruelty.
